Hot Springs, NC

Hello from Hot Springs, last town on the map. I will hit TN in a few hours, after I explore the town for a bit. The Appalachian Trail runs through here, so I am looking out for other walkers, because you just never know.
Last 2 days have been busy with many people honking their horns at me and yelling encouragement. I guess they think I am heading to the A.T. lol.
I'm tired, hungry, sore, and in shock that my time in NC is almost over.
Going exploring now while I can.

  1. Just now learning about your journey. I wish you all the best! It is so bizarre that a really good friend just told me Sat. night that he was going to take his son (11) and do the AT all the way through sometime soon. He was slightly drunk, but determined. He is a "mountain man" but I'm still trying to get my head around that. NOW, I'm wondering...just wondering. I am proud, jealous, and astonished. That's the best I can do right now. I love the blog! GOOD LUCK!

    1. The AT is no joke! I spent a week on it, and had a few day trips on it when I lived in Roanoke. It really is a trmendous journey. 2000+ miles.
I'd love to do the whole thing one day. Tell your friend to go for it!!

  2. This journey you are on and sharing with us all is awesome. Your stories of the people you meet, the places you stumble upon and the random acts of kindness are so wonderful to read about. Something in your tone says you have already been through a big change. Keep it up! Not only do those of us here in VA get to live vicariously through you, you are touching the lives of those you meet along your way. BIG LOVE to ya, safe adventures ahead!
